Introducing Isabella's Belly Dance Class!

Sneak Peak of new and exciting services for 2015 Meet Isabella! She will be holding classes for Belly Dancing in our studio. "The best way to up lift a positive feeling of sensual expression and freedom is through artistic and feminine movements. Sensuality is the desirable quality that makes belly dance an art form. The dancer feels compelled to explore the soft curves of their body and the beautiful ways that the body can move. Naturally, dancing can make the weight of the world slip away, and with sensuality, the dancer frees herself emotionally and physically. Belly Dance has been a great opportunity for me, it has allowed me to feel music in different ways and has taught me to honor my body and its natural curves. I began dancing when I was younger, starting out with ballet which quickly progressed to a love of Colombian Folklore, like Curulao, Cumbia and Mapalé (all of which are dances typical in the Colombian Pacific and are considered dances with African Influence). Upon entering 10th grade I started doing yoga with different masters and in different ways and became in love with the idea of gaining energy with less pain and added flexibility. So it was that I became introduced to the art of Belly Dance, and I completely fell in love. Shortly afterwards I began attending an academy, and then progressed to be the instructors apprentice at all of his classes. Within 3 months I had gone from new student to performing at the Winter Expositions. In my first 6 months as a student at the Namaste Academy of Arabic Dances, I had done 10 Expositions with the other dancers and was helping to lead the Beginner’s classes. Unlike other types of dancing, Belly Dance is a low impact form of exercise that can help tighten muscle groups in the abdomen, pelvis, trunk, spine, and neck; this particular dance can potentially burn up to 300 calories per hour! Since the very first time I stepped into a Belly Dance Studio I have matured as much mentally as physically, in fact there’s a great quote that says, ‘’Belly dance is like wine, it only gets better with time.’’ Please stop by to sign up for her classes!
